This is how Sarna's owner Jade describes her:
Sarna became a member of our family very suddenly in the fall of 2008. The decicion to take her into our family was made in two days and on the third day we picked the small golden bundle home. Sarna was already as a puppy a delightfully beautiful dog spiced up with a rather head-strong character. "No" wasn't really a word she would listen to and her puppy rallies almost drove the rest of the family close to a nervous breakdown.
Our own fruit bat isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and it very often seems like she has absolutely no idea what she's doing. Her concentration abilities vary on both sides of zero so she tends to wonder around eating everything that comes across and that can be classified as food. And everything goes: olives, lettuce, tomatoes, almost all fruits, herbs, indoor plants, dirt, kitchen ware, blenders, used tea bags, cooking knives et cetera.
We have not been spared from material damages, probably due to her quicksilverlike character that nothing seems to drive out. After a long run in the forest she will sleep for two hours and then it will continue as before. She has good hunting instincts and she spends her time on the yard hunting insects, observing birds and planes and (phew...) digging holes. Our front yard is like a war zone, full of holes and piles of sand.
We started agility some time ago in the Pharaoh hound/Ibizan hound group and Sarna seems to enjoy getting treats in her belly at regular intervals. It doesn't matter what she needs to do for it, She will throw a backflip for a meatball. She is very brave by nature, she hasn't been timid towards any obstacles. The style in getting over them just needs a bit work still.
After we won our battle with her being house-broken I couldn't be more happy. Sarna is a truly wonderful Pharaoh hound that won't run our of eagerness. She smiles constantly, loves to be petted and will do anything for attention. |
